Discover the Traditional Healing Wisdom of Ayurveda
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of natural and holistic medicine. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life” (the Sanskrit root Ayur means “longevity” or “life” and veda means knowledge, though it implies knowledge of the full range of life and creation, from the innermost to the outer).
While allopathic medicine tends to focus on the management of disease and symptoms, Ayurveda instead focuses on how to prevent disease, or how to eliminate its root cause if it does occur.
Ayurveda has an effective tool for the diagnosis of disease called nadi pareeksha, or pulse diagnosis. Through this practice, the doctor determines your prakriti, or natural constitution, detects imbalances in the body, and prescribes an effective treatment.
Ayurveda supports health without disturbing the natural intelligence of the body. Ayurvedic treatments also have virtually no negative side affects. Because of this, people around the world are now turning to the ancient science of Ayurveda to help them regain and maintain optimal health.

Sample Ayurvedic Treatments
Shirodhara
Shirodhara is a wonderful relaxation process in which the scalp and forehead receive a gentle caressing massage by a thin stream of medicated lukewarm oil, poured from a certain height for a specific time, continuously and rhythmically allowing the oil to run through the scalp and hair.
One of Ayurveda’s great offerings, this purifying and rejuvenating therapy eliminates toxins and mental exhaustion, and relieves stress and ill effects on the central nervous system. Shirodhara has trationally been used in the treatment of diseases and disorders related to head, neck, eyes, ears, nose, throat, and the central nervous system.
Marma
Marma Chikitsa is potentially the most restorative of the Ayurvedic treatments, since it restores the body's built-in energy network. Gentle pressure on the body’s marma points releases blocks and allows life energy, or prana, to flow to the connecting organs and tissues giving them a new lease on life.
Shila Abhyanga
Shila Abhyanga involves the use of herbal Ayurvedic oils and water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to give a slow, deep tissue massage. This massage is traditionally given to stimulate the circulatory system, soften and relax the muscles, release toxins, relieve pains and muscle spasms, and induce a state of deep relaxation.
